Jeffrey Turnbull, MD has held many leadership roles in Canadian medicine and medical education. In 2018, he stepped down as chief of staff of the Ottawa Hospital to devote more time to working with people who experience

Dr. Turnbull is a co-founder and serves as medical director of Ottawa Inner City Health (OICH), an organization that provides health care to people who are chronically homeless and works to improve their access to care. The innovative programs at OICH, which take a harm-reduction approach, have been studied and emulated around the world.

Dr. Turnbull is also health equity clinical lead for Health Quality Ontario. He has served as president of the Medical Council of Canada and the Canadian Medical Association. His numerous awards include the Order of Canada.
