Come celebrate the 10th anniversary of Migizii Agamik - Bald Eagle Lodge! 

The event will feature speakers, tours, entertainment, a Métis chivaree with food, and more! Everyone is welcome.

Special guest speakers:

Ovide Mercredi [LLB/1977] is from Misipawistik Cree Nation. He was president of the first Indigenous Students' Association at the U of M, which at the time was called the Indian Metis Eskimo Student Association. He is one of the original visionaries who advocated for a physical space for Indigenous students on campus. Ovide is also a former National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, a lawyer, a negotiator, author, poet, and artist. He received a Distinguished Alumni Award in 2013.

Laura Forsythe is Métis from the Red River Settlement. She is a graduate student in the department of Native Studies, with a specialization in Indigenous education. She is also the Métis Inclusion Coordinator for the U of M, working to increase the understanding of the importance of Métis cultures in the U of M community. She is a member of U of M's Senate, representing the University of Manitoba Graduate Students Association, and she is the co-editor of Transgressions: Cultural Studies and Education
