Guest presenter Roland Kroebel will explain the ways we use models to determine the sustainability of agriculture production systems. He will discuss the type of models being used and their differences. This is complemented by an introduction of the Holos model, covering the scope and aim of the model, principles for design, and examples of application.

Roland is an ecosystem modeller at AAFC's Lethbridge Research Station where he leads the research program to further develop AAFC's whole-farm model Holos, a tool used for calculating the sustainability of agricultural production systems.
