Event Description:
The Department of Clinical Health Psychology, Max Rady College of Medicine,  invites you to attend the Edge of Science Series presented by Dr. David M. Clark, Professor and Chair, Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford, who will present on Developing and Disseminating Effective Psychological Therapies for Common Mental Health Problems: Science, Economics, and Politics, Monday, November 19, 2018, 11:00-12:00 in the  Frederic Gaspard Theatre. 

Dr. Clark is one of the architects of the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) program, which has had a large scale rollout in the UK, and is one of the most successful health system endeavors to make psychological treatments for common mental health disorders widely available to the public.


Learning Objectives:

How psychological science can be used to develop more effective treatments
The clinical and economic arguments for making psychological treatments more widely available to the public
How psychological therapy provision can be dramatically increased within the community
